Tips For Bridal Makeup

Wedding is the ultimate celebration of the union of two souls. It is so special that every thing associated with it, be it the location, decoration, food, dresses, accessories of bride, groom and bridesmaid, food items etc, should be first rate and the very best. No wonder bride and groom both aspire and perspire to turn up in their very best. Infact in case of bride the hard work gets doubled since she not only has to take care of her wedding gown but her bridal makeup also. It is a major cause of concern because her make up will ensure that she will end up looking like a beautiful fairy or an aspiring fairy but never quite there.

On you wedding when you are about to apply makeup keep these points in mind:

• First and foremost principle is that make up should not be too much so much so that it ends up looking gaudy. Remember make up is always applied to enhance your natural beauty and not to transform you into some body else.

• Remember before applying makeup, properly clear your face, apply a good moisturizer and comb your hair back, and be ready with your makeup as early as possible during the day. So that in the remaining time you can take care of your wedding attire and some hair care.

• A day before the wedding, prepare yourself by applying complete bridal makeup and seek feedback from your relatives and friends. Based upon that feedback you can be completely ready and reassured about your D day.

Spring 2010 Hair Trends for Brides

Spring 2010 hair is all about healthy, natural, shiny hair. It is about allowing naturally wavy hair to air dry and adding soft wave to straight hair. That sleek, super-straight hair that was so “in” during the winter? forget about it! Now it’s all about softness and texture.

Of course, if you happen to have naturally straight hair, you shouldn’t go crazy trying to add waves and texture to your hair. The entire idea is to have healthy tresses, and we all know that the less processed hair is, the healthier it becomes.

Another big hair trend this spring is the loose bun – unlike the classic bun which is a bit harsh and formal, this hairstyle is much softer and more feminine.

So what does this mean for spring brides? It means a relatively relaxed hair – loose waves are great especially for informal weddings, but even if your wedding is more formal, you can go with a loose bun – so you get an updo but you allow hair to look softer and a few pieces to frame your face.

Having said all that, you must know by now that as much as I enjoy following trends, I’m also a big believer in individuality and personal style, so if you love straight, sleek hair or have your mind set on a formal updo, by all means, go ahead! This is YOUR big day, after all.

Bridal Hair Tips: Part Two

Last week we talked about how important it is for a bride to be comfortable; to make sure her hairstyle fits the style of her wedding; and to avoid stiff hair.

Today I’d like to suggest specific bridal hairstyles for specific hair lengths and also talk about curly hair.

Long Hair

Long hair is probably the easiest and most versatile. The classic choice would be an updo – more formal for formal weddings, more natural for causal weddings. Even for a formal wedding, a few face-framing pieces would soften the look and are highly recommended over a severe updo.

If your wedding is very casual, keeping your hair down can create a soft, natural, gorgeous look.

Medium Hair

Here, a lot depends on what “medium” means. If it’s long enough, it can be worn up with the help of some hairspray and pins – ask your stylist what she thinks. If you can’t wear it up, simply leave it down and add hair accents to make it special.

Short Hair

Short hair can look very sleek and elegant. Again, a talented hair stylist will be able to do wonders by adding volume and texture where needed and creating a truly elegant look.

Curly or Straight?

It’s generally best to go with your natural hair texture rather than fight it. Soft curls can be beautiful and face-framing, while straight hair is best left straight – curl just the face-framing pieces to add softness.
