Hawaiian Wedding Customs

Hawaii, the name itself brings out the postcard images of a paradise in the Pacific Ocean in our minds, which most of us would like to visit at least once in our lives. Undoubtedly it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. When we are set out to get married, we will always wish to get married in a beautiful place and if that place happens to be a paradise like Hawaii then loving hearts are sure to melt faster to become one. Best part about a Hawaiian wedding is that native tradition of Aloha, which makes the wedding celebration most unique and all the more enjoyable. Though it is hard to exactly define Aloha but it can be broadly understood as a custom to treat yourself, planet and every body around with love and respect. So it will not be an exaggeration to say that warmth generated by Aloha makes the heart melts even faster.

Flower leis are another beautiful aspect of a Hawaiian wedding. Leis are necklaces created from the beautiful tropical flowers. Normally bride and groom exchange leis as the part of the wedding custom. Apart from that, leis could also be exchanged between the families of the bride and the groom. Generally fathers of the bride and grooms are given leis made from the leaves of the tea and mothers are honored with the leis made from the ginger. Some times even guests could also be honored with the leis.

Another fascinating aspect of the Hawaiian wedding is the sand ceremony. Here bride and groom both pour colored sands into the bottle; this shows ultimate unity of the two loving souls. As sands of different colors unite to become inseparable similarly bride and groom are merged with each other permanently.

How To Thank Bridesmaid?

We all know bridesmaids are so crucial to every wedding. A bride just can not do with out them. She could help the bride in every aspect of planning the wedding like she can become bouncing board for the ideas, she can go with the bride for wedding location hunting, buying a nice bridal dress is usually a big headache for a bride, she can help her with that, she can collaborate with the bride to get a nice bridesmaid dress for herself and then finally during the wedding a bridesmaid is the most sought after and coveted designation, she is always with the bride every where. Considering the fact that a bridesmaid puts up so much time and effort in helping out the bride with every possible aspect of the wedding, it is natural for the bride to feel grateful and reward her and acknowledge her in some tangible manner.

The best way to acknowledge the efforts put up by a bridesmaid is to give her a nice gift. That gift need not be very expensive or some thing really exotic, a reasonably priced and a thoughtful gift would always be appreciated and remembered. However grateful you may feel but you should follow the constraints imposed by your budget. So buy her some thing which is decent and does not look distasteful or cheap.

There are varieties of locations from where you can get a nice gift for the bridesmaid. These days internet has become a great source for buying gifts. After all with so many beautiful online stores, where you can browse so many varieties, compare the prices and getting for yourself the best possible deal, all the while sitting with in the comforts of your home. Infact if you can afford, the best gift for a bridesmaid could be her bridesmaid dress, this will be some thing which she could use in future for other formal occasions. If you are running short of money then even then you can give her a personalized gift like a framed photograph of you with the bridesmaid.

How To Cope With A Difficult Husband

It’s been so rightly said that “Marriage is not a bed of roses”, there are lots of adjustments and compromises have to be made. From a women’s point of view, her worst nightmares come alive when she has to put up with a husband who is quite moody and difficult. In these situations if wife is not understanding and patient enough then the home, they build with so much love and care, will become a battleground providing free entertainment to the neighbors. Things may become so bad that married life will become akin to a living hell.

In these situations divorce or separation seems to be most logical next step but many a times marriages could be saved, if a little care was taken and some patience was exercised by the women. I am not asking to bear with a cruel and violent husband, this is an exceptional situation, and where jumping out of the marital bandwagon is the only option. But normally people are good and they would never hurt others intentionally, there might be some genuine reasons because of which a husband is upset or irritable.

This is how you can save your marriage:

• First and foremost exercise patience and do not give as good as you get. Stay calm whenever he is giving you a piece of mind or want to argue with you. Remember it takes two to tango. If you choose to stay calm and refuse to be a part of confrontation, his anger would evaporate after some time.

• Remember your husband might not be too communicative, so make an attempt to understand what has left unsaid but expressed through non verbal means. This will help you further understand him better and help him come out of his mood swings.

• Always ensure that your home is well maintained and once in a while cook a dish, which he likes the most. This will make him understand that you love him truly and trying your best to make the marriage work. This will bring about a paradigm shift in him slowly but surely.
